Clifford Sisters
With a mutual love of plants and design we teamed-up to launch Clifford Sisters Garden Design. We both have a passion for garden design and love working together now that we live just a few miles apart.

Theresa Clifford
Designer
With over two decades of experience as a jeweler and a background in three-dimensional design, my creative practice has always been guided by a deep appreciation for detail, texture, and composition. These visual instincts, honed through years of working with precious materials, now inform my evolving journey into garden design, where the interplay of form, rhythm, and seasonal change offers a new canvas for expression.
My background in education and social care adds a vital layer to this work. I approach garden design not only as an aesthetic pursuit but as a means of fostering wellbeing, accessibility, and connection. Whether shaping planting schemes or adapting spaces for diverse users, I aim to create gardens that are both beautiful and purposeful.
I hold an RHS Diploma in Horticulture and am a member of the British Academy of Garden Designers. My practical experience includes working as a gardener for the National Trust, Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, and a range of private clients; each setting deepening my understanding of plants, landscapes, and maintenance.

Stella Clifford-Jones
Designer
An interest in plants and wildlife from an early age led me to study Biological Sciences at university, an education which deeply guides my thinking.
Since then I have gained forty years of gardning experience and have opened two of my seven gardens with the prestigious National Garden Scheme, raising thousands of pounds for charity.
As well as a deep passion for plants, I have designed many bespoke garden structures over the years: planters, raised beds, archways and a muchadmired potting shed. This wealth of practical experience is invaluable for garden design. My own garden locations have included: the rich soil of Mull in the Inner Hebrides; the rocky shade of a Welsh hillside; an acre of ex-farmland; and the sandy Shropshire countryside. The accumulated experience of creating gardens from scratch, and having to maintain them in our difficult climate, has been highly beneficial when creating new and challenging designs.
Oh, and I’m obsessed with plants!
