Who we are

We are sisters with extensive experience in gardening and design. Stella is an Assistant County Organiser for the Shropshire National Garden Scheme (NGS) and a complete plant-a-holic with over forty years gardening experience. Theresa’s background is in design and education, plus she has worked professionally as a gardener for the Cholmondeley Estate in Cheshire as well as the National Trust.

What we do

Our designs are primarily focused on plants and improving biodiversity in gardens. If you want a low maintenance garden with AstroTurf and concrete paving, then we are probably not for you but we can give you a low maintenance garden through careful plant selection and maintenance guidance. We aim to help you visualise your ideal garden and provide you with the practical plans needed to achieve it, either by yourself or using a contractor.

How we go about it

Initially, we would set up an informal meeting, preferably on a fine day so we can do a brief visual assessment of the garden and discover what direction you want to take. If we feel we can help you, and you like us, then we would arrange a formal site visit where extensive measurements and surveys are taken of the site, along with detailed information about the style and functional aspects that you desire. With this information, we would draw up a basic proposal and design. If you are happy with this, then we would go on to develop the design in finer detail with design specifications, planting guidance and a list of reputable local suppliers.

How much it costs

The initial site visit is free of charge. The cost of the first stage of the formal site survey really depends on the size of the garden and the complexity of the work involved, but this will be quoted after the initial site visit. Typically, a small new build garden requiring hard landscaping ideas and a planting scheme would be about £240. If you decide that you want to go ahead with a full plan, then this fee would be deducted from the final quote.
